As a former "Jesse" who decided to put the gun away, I really feel what you are saying here. We all have heads so full of garbage, cluttering up and obscuring the light that's trying to shine out. Your writing inspires me to be more forthright and truthful about how I gained the wisdom I try to share with others. Some of it came from amazing life experiences, but some of it came from the times I had to realize that what I "knew" was BS. It's hard to burn those old mental snapshots of yourself, when you counted on them for so long. It's hard to let them go, and for a brief while, not know who you are. But so liberating.
