So what is the After Graduation Article Bank and why does it exist?

This project started with my own frustrations. Back when I first decided to get into freelance writing, I searched the Internet for resources…and what I found were countless blogs about web content writing. Few had 101-level blog posts or articles that could be easily found. When you don’t know the basics, its next to impossible to jump into an existing blog community. I didn’t know what I was doing, so I didn’t feel comfortable asking questions or commenting with my opinion.

The After Graduation Article Bank is a solution to that problem. All of the articles here are for beginners - and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with admitting that you’re a newbie in the freelance world. At one point or another, we all were.

On top of that, there’s also absolutely nothing wrong with admitting that you learned something from an article here even though you’ve been a freelance writer for several years. This is an industry that is changing rapidly!

Across the top of this page, you’ll see the article bank categories, with articles within each category. Like typical blog posts, you can ask questions, voice your opinion if you don’t agree with me, or otherwise leave comments on any of the articles. You can also email me directly if you’d like to communicate is a less public way. I’m happy to answer questions!

At the present, I’m still working on adding articles to the After Graduation Article Bank. The structure of this website is slightly different than a regular blog, so as of right now, you won’t see updates with a traditional RSS feed reader. Sorry! If you’d like to receive updates, though, I’ve made it pretty easy - just sign up for Career Oomph, my weekly newsletter, and you’ll receive an update once weekly via email to let you know about new articles, as well as give you general career advice.

Speaking of general career advice, once you’ve done poking around here in the article bank, why not head over to the main After Graduation site, where you’ll find my career blog. I’m a freelance writer first and foremost, but I have plenty of tips and tricks of people in any industry who are looking to make job-related decisions, find work, and stay motivated to achieve career goals. Hope to see you there!
